About 103.9 Seymour FM

FM 103.9 is a locally and regionally based membership controlled not-for-profit community broadcasting station.

Originally covering just Seymour, the radio station has been on the air for close to ten years. Over this time, the station has seen many people volunteer, and has developed from merely a few interested people to now being a well established and fully equipped radio station for the whole region.

After many years of operating on temporary licences, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has awarded a “long term” Analogue Community Radio Broadcasting Licence to Seymour FM – 103.9 in 2018. In making the determination, ACMA has imposed a handful of conditions that the station will need to achieve in the near future. They include an increase in Full Membership, and program related matters. The station has an exciting future ahead, with plans to improve local news content, community engagement, and reception in the broadcast area.

An upgrade in the transmission facilities in 2015 allowed for region wide coverage, and as such we now fully welcome and encourage people from throughout the region to participate in the station. At this time, our major towns are Broadford, Seymour, Nagambie, Puckapunyal and Avenel.

Coverage is provided to Seymour, Broadford, Nagambie, Avenel, Puckapunyal and Tallarook, and the surrounding localities.

FM 103.9 broadcasts from its studio at Lesley Street, Seymour (within the Kings Park complex).

The radio station presents a variety of programs, and all participants within Seymour FM are volunteers. Additionally, the station is operated in accordance with the Community Broadcasting Code of Practice.
